Campbell River, BC
Sadly, on December 8th, 2020 Al passed away at the Campbell River and District General Hospital at the age of 94. He was born on November 5th, 1926 and grew up on the family farm near Maymont, Saskatchewan, moving to Campbell River in 1950 to work on construction of the Elk Falls Pulp and Paper Mill. Later, Al worked in the automotive parts industry, both here and in Port Hardy. He was a past member of both the Lions Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Campbell River. Following in his father George's footsteps, Al was a lifelong fisherman and hunter. He was the last direct descendant of George and Hilda Sloan, being predeceased by his four older siblings, Arnold, Earl, Violet, and Grace. Al is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who wish to thank Dr. Sutherland and the 3rd floor hospital staff for their care and compassion over the last several months, as well as the wonderful staff of Ironwood Place where Al resided for the past few years. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no service at this time.
