Erny Joseph Norris

–

Campbell River, BC

Erny Joseph Norris is survived by his daughters Tracey Rolland and Melanie Norris and son Jeff Thomas Sr. As well as his grandchildren Travis, Quinton, Caleb, Savannah, Joshua, and Abby. He was predeceased by his wife Joan and son John.
Erny was born in Victoria, and later moved to Courtenay, to raise his family. Erny and Joan bought a home on Urquhart Ave., where they resided for over twenty-five years. Erny and his family grew very close to their Urquhart family, and loved them very much. After a couple of moves, Erny and Joan made the decision to relocate to the Quinsam reserve in Campbell River, where they built a home together. After his wife Joan's passing, Erny decided to live the rest of his life to the fullest, knowing that Joan would have wanted that for him. Erny travelled twice to Toronto, once with his daughter Tracey and Granddaughter Abby to watch Grandson Josh represent Team BC for soccer and bring home the Gold at the North American Indigenous Games. The second time with his daughter Melanie and Granddaughter Savannah, so they could visit Canada's Wonderland, and ride every roller coaster in the park. Erny was an adrenaline junkie at heart, riding the fastest roller coasters in Canada, bungee jumping, and skydiving on Father's Day in 2019. Erny travelled to Las Vegas, went on a cruise to Alaska, and attended his first Rod Stewart concert with his girlfriend of the last 2 years, Marilyn. Erny made good on his decision to live his last years to the fullest, ticking items off his bucket list with haste.
This loss has been tremendous for us all, and we miss him every day. We thank all our Band members, friends and family who have reached out to us all over the past month. Your kind words are so appreciated, and they mean a lot to us during this difficult time.
